Able Translations Ltd. achieves EN 15038  3/6/2007

March 6, 2007 (Toronto) – Able Translations Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the audit requirements to become EN 15038 certified. The EN 15038 is a new pan-European standard that provides guidelines for translation service providers concerning staff and technological resources, quality and project management, contract terms and conditions, workflows and additional services. The standard has been touted as a method for language service providers to differentiate themselves based on formal processes and quality, making it easier for buyers to make informed purchase decisions.

“The EN 15038 is a natural fit for our organization”, stated Mr. Wilson Teixeira, President of Able Translations Ltd.. “We are committed to continuous improvement and quality assurance, as evidenced by our ISO registration status, and have implemented processes that allow us to identify and correct issues. This same checking and correction mechanism is a cornerstone of the EN 15038 standard.”

This unique certification opportunity was created through an agreement between the Language Industry Association (AILIA) and the Austrian Standards Institute. It provided Canadian translation firms with the chance to make use of the auditing services of Mr. Peter Jonas, one of the institute’s lead auditors. “These are the first EN 15038 certificates in Canada, to which -I hope- many more will be added”, stated Jonas.

The certification recognizes that Able Translations Ltd. has value-added processes in place to ensure the consistency and accuracy of a translation prior to it being returned to the client. It also reflects the cohesiveness of Able Translations Ltd.’s relationship with its independent service providers and its ability to provide reliable translators.
